A regular cleaning schedule is essential for avoiding stale, tainted flavors in your beverage caused by oil residues. More importantly though, Cleancaf’s dual action formula also prevents the accumulation of scale deposits which are responsible for slow brew times and machine malfunctions. Cleancaf is packaged for easy use, and also contains a blue-dye to help you see the cleaner and insure proper rinsing. Cleancaf is made of all natural citric powder so it’s odorless and nontoxic. Each box of Cleancaf contains three individual packets.
Below are some basic cleaning instructions. However, always refer to your operating manual and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning your particular machine. An improper cleaning could harm your machine or void your manufacturer’s warranty. Cleancaf is not recommended for brass, chrome and clearcoat finishes.
Instructions for Use on semi-automatic and manual espresso machines:
1. Dissolve contents of Cleancaf™ package in 4 cups of warm water and add to the water reservoir. Attach handle (portafilter) and place an empty container below.
2. Turn machine on and begin the brew cycle. Also allow several ounces of Cleancaf™ solution to flow through steam wand and into a container to avoid spray. Discard entire solution once it has passed through your machine.
3. Rinse all components and repeat steps 1 and 2 twice with clean water only. Remove handle and rinse it completely in clean water. You may soak handle and filters in Cleancaf™ solution then rinse all components with clean water.
Instructions for Use on super automatic espresso machines:
1. Dissolve contents of Cleancaf™ package in 4 cups of warm water and add to the water reservoir.
2. DO NOT press the coffee button when Cleancaf is in the water tank.
3. Discharge Cleancaf through the steam wand only in both the water and in the steam mode. Rinse twice with clean water and rinse in both the steam and water mode.
