The Izzo Alex is a quality crafted semi-automatic machine that offers the best of both worlds, on two different fronts. First, it features the sought after, quiet rotary pump. Unlike the Vetrano though, Izzo Alex doesn’t have to be plumbed in. However, like the Andreja, Alex can be plumbed in, if you choose to do so.
Second, Alex represents a solid build with creature comforts to boot. In terms of solid construction, Izzo Alex weighs in at about 72lbs, is constructed of #304 stainless steel (including the frame), sports a lever action E61 commercial brew group, 1400 watt heating element, 2 liter copper boiler (horizontal mount) and quality components that are quite accessible.
As to creature comforts, Alex comes equip with two complete portafilters (double and single) adjustable leveling legs, large capacity drip tray that supports an optional drain, dual manometers, a swivel steam arm and a separate swivel hot water arm. The Izzo Alex also features a directional valve that switches to two positions. In one position, Alex will take water from a direct source. In the other position, Izzo Alex will command the pump to extract water from a portable reservoir.
